Residential Project on the Mediterranean Coast .
Completed in 2024. This family compound exemplifies a holistic approach to design, seamlessly integrating architecture, landscape, and interior design.
Located in the sparsely developed and historically protected district of Datca, on Turkey’s southwest peninsula, the project transforms a unique 1800m² site into a harmonious retreat. The design incorporates two newly constructed buildings alongside a “listed” two-story stone masonry house. The main building is designed for year-round living, while the smaller structure serves as accommodation for occasional visits from family and friends.
The existing stone house occupies a slightly sloped, densely vegetated terrain. It serves as the focal point upon approach from the town center, standing out with its vertical, almost monumental character. In contrast, the newly designed masonry buildings adopt a more horizontal form, sensitively responding to the site’s contours and a pre-existing construction pit—the remnants of a previously abandoned swimming pool project. This approach ensures a respectful integration of the new structures within the landscape, enhancing the estate’s overall aesthetic and functional coherence.
